Hira Shaukat – Soil mapping using electromagnetic induction for Leptospermum nitens survival and growth in Western Australia

Watch PhD candidate Hira Shaukat discuss her research on Leptospermum nitens.

Abstract

Australia has an abundance of native Leptospermum species, which is renowned for being the source of high-value bio-active honey production. Leptospermum nitens is one of the species identified with the potential of making WA a ‘hot spot’ for producing bioactive honey. I will be discussing soil mapping, identifying the properties for optimum survival, and growth rates of newly planted L. nitens sites.
