Beehive monitoring PhD project wins the 31st INCITE Award for Research & Innovation

A big congratulations to PhD student Omar Anwar for winning the 31st INCITE Awards in the category of ‘Research & Innovation Project of the Year (Postgraduate Tertiary Student Projects only)’.

Omar’s project, ‘Smart beehive monitoring system for remote regions’, is about a monitoring system that utilises the latest in long-range technologies for communication and machine learning to eliminate the expensive components of monitoring honeybees to maintain healthy beehives.

Omar is one of ten winners from the 2022 INCITE Awards, WA’s longest-running Tech Awards Program (since 1991) and the premier state event in ICT. The 2022 prize winners were announced at an event on 12 August 2022.
