Project: Honey Bee Nutrition – Early detection of malnutrition and colony collapse

I am a Biologist from México and I completed my undergraduate and Master’s degree at The National Autonomous University of Mexico working with ecology and physiology in insects. Here I studied sexual selection and parental care in insects like damselflies and bugs. These days I am doing the PhD in The University of Western Australia, researching the nutritional health of honey bees. My project is focused on determining metabolomical and physiological markers of bees’ nutritional decline, to provide the Australian beekeeping industry information about the best strategies to maintain bees in a healthy nutritional state.
